After paying the buyout clause stipulated in his contract—which allowed him to unilaterally terminate his contract with Valencia Basket—Pedro Martínez is no longer affiliated with the Club and will step down as head coach of our men’s first team. On March 25, 2026, the Catalan coach had extended his contract with Valencia Basket through the end of the 2027–28 season.
The Club would like to thank Pedro for his professionalism, dedication, and hard work during this second stint at the helm of the Taronja bench.
After a first stage between 2015 and 2017, during which the Taronja team won the 2017 Endesa League, Pedro Martínez returned in the summer of 2024 for a second stint as our head coach, which again lasted two seasons. He leaves as the first head coach to win multiple titles and the one who has won the most with our men’s professional team, adding two more trophies to that first league title: the 2025 Endesa Super Cup and the 2025–26 Endesa League.
Pedro Martínez leaves Valencia Basket as the coach with the most games coached (282) and the most wins (207), as well as the one who has coached the most games for the club in the Endesa League (168) and in European competitions (105).
